Available Reserve Margin

Available Reserve Margin is defined as the difference between the total actual generation capacity during the summer peak demand period and the total generation at the time of maximum demand of the year. The actual generation capacity is the sum of the nominal capacities of individual generators less the sum of all permanent generator derations. The total generation at the time of maximum demand of the yeat includes the auxiliary power required by the power stations.

i.e.:

Available Reserve Margin (MW) = Α - Β

Available Reserve Margin (%) = (Α - Β) x 100 / Β

where

Α = Total Actual Generation Capacity during the summer peak demand period of th year (MW)

Β = Maximum generation recorded during the year (MW)

The Available Reserve Margin is given in the table below for the last decade (the Autoproducer "Vassilikos Cement Works" is included):
